Atoms for Peace (Band)
Atoms for Peace is a Established in 2009, English-American supergroup; among other things, consisting of Thom Yorke ( Radiohead ), Flea ( Red Hot Chili Peppers ) and Nigel Godrich ( producer, most notably for Radiohead, Travis, REM and Beck).
Band History
The first concert the band played, then still without its own name as a backing band of Thom Yorke, on October 2, 2009 in Los Angeles. On the setlist was Yorke's full debut solo album The Eraser followed by some Radiohead B-sides and unreleased songs that should appear partly later on the Radiohead album The King of Limbs.
In early 2010 Atoms for Peace was announced as a band name after the band "? ? " Gave concerts previously under the name. The band's name refers to a speech by U.S. President Dwight D. Eisenhower from 1953. Already on Yorke's solo album The Eraser was a song that name.
Having previously announced that from the live band started as a project a studio album to emerge, the first single default was published in September 2012. The debut album Amok was provided on 18 February 2013, the band's website as a stream and was released on February 25, 2013 on XL Recordings.
