Attachmate

Attachmate is a software company based in Seattle, which is specialized in terminal emulation, systems management, information security and integration of mainframe and legacy software in modern computer networks.

History

Founded in 1982 in Bellevue (Washington), the company hardware and software produced for networking mainframe with PC - based IT systems. 2004 acquired the Attachmate WRQ terminal emulator specialists in Seattle. The two companies merged in 2005 under the name of Attachmate, and Seattle became headquarters. NetIQ, 1995 in San Jose (California ) and was dedicated to Systems Management, Information Security and Communications, was to buy 2006 and the merger led to Attachmate Corporation. 27 April 2011, Attachmate has taken over the computer network pioneer Novell for $ 2.2 billion and thus also the SUSE Linux GmbH in Nuremberg.
