Au delà du délire (French for, Beyond the madness ') is the third studio album by the French progressive rock band Ange. It appeared in 1974 at Philips.

Creation and publication

In had done in 1973 with Le cimetière of Arlequins the breakthrough came with Genesis at the Reading Festival. The third album followed a year later and received a gold record in France.

Style

Anges Progressive Rock is from Genesis, King Crimson and Pink Floyd influences, however, obtained by Christian Décamps ' theatrical, French singing a personal touch, even if it puts something on Au - delà du délire compared to the previous albums from the focus and space suggests to many dark and bombastic arrangements. It also found stylistic elements of the music of the Middle Ages, the Rock and the chanson. The lyrics are pervaded by biblical motifs.

Reception

Au - delà du délire is considered a classic of French progressive rock. Christian Rode praises of the Baby Blue Pages, the " perfect blend of playfulness and gloom with beautiful melodies " and describes it as " a thoroughly worth listening very own album ." The eclipsed magazine took Au delà du délire on its list of the 150 most important prog albums.
