Audiovisual

As an audio vision is defined as the combination of sensations that are sent to the auditory and visual perception. The media historian Helmut Schanze limits the audio vision on the merging of the electro-acoustic and cinematographic technologies after 1900.

The media of audiovisual are radio and television; they solved mediengenealogisch from the technical monographs and even superseded by the digital media.

The media of audio vision are characterized by recording and playback machines, they include a camera, microphone and the receiving equipment ( TV and radio apparatus ), the technical broadcasting a network is being used.

Conditions of the media system of audiovisual were a number of key technologies:

  • Invention of photography as photochemical recording technique for static images (Louis Daguerre and others, 1839);
  • Invention of the telephone as an electro- acoustic transmission medium;
  • Invention of Fonografie as electro-acoustic recording technology;
  • Invention of the motion picture photography / cinematography as a recording and playback technology for motion pictures;
  • Invention of wireless telegraphy ( Marconi and others);
  • Invention of the Braun tube ( cathode ray tube).
