Audronius Ažubalis

Audronius Ažubalis ( born January 17, 1958 in Vilnius) is a Lithuanian politician, Member of the Seimas ' and former Foreign Minister of Lithuania.

Life

After graduation in 1976 Ažubalis began studying journalism at the University of Vilnius. In 1989 he graduated from the correspondence course after military service in the Soviet Union. In 1990, he studied politics and economics at the World Press Institute at St. Paul, Minnesota (USA). From 1979 to 1988 he was a member of the Lithuanian broadcasting company Lietuvos ir Radijas televizija and from 1989 to 1990 as a correspondent in the newspaper Atgimimas of Sąjūdis. In 1993 he founded the first Lithuanian center of public relations and led it until 1996.

From 1996 to 2000 he was a member of the Seimas, Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and Deputy Chairman of the European Affairs Committee. Since 2004, he is again a member of the Seimas, Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and on 11 February 2010 to 2012 Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania (it was January 2010 candidates to the Lithuanian Foreign Minister nominated in place of the resigned Vygaudas Ušackas ).

From 1998 to 2000 he was president of the Lithuanian- British Association " British Chamber of Commerce," from 2001, the Nacionalinė žurnalų leidėjų Asociacija.

Ažubalis is married to Mrs. Loreta. You have the daughters Egle Marija and Aistė Valerija.
