August Pieper (architect)

August Pieper (* 1844 in Hannover, † April 29, 1891 in Hamburg ) was a German architect who worked in Dresden, Cologne and Hamburg.

He completed his schooling in Hamburg, studied at the Polytechnic School Hannover and the Technical University of Vienna under Friedrich von Schmidt. In 1867 he came to mediation Schmidt to Dresden, where he provided the designs for the Christ Church in Deuben. He then designed the Anglican Church and several villas on the Goethe street, today Gretchen Palucca street in Dresden. In 1873 he moved to Cologne in 1879 and came to Hamburg.

August Pieper was a brother of the engineer Carl Pieper (1842-1901), who also lived in the 1880s in Hamburg and worked.
