August von Othegraven

August von Othegraven ( born June 2, 1864 in Cologne, † March 11, 1946 in Wermelskirchen ) was a German composer and music educator.

He was professor of choral music at the Conservatory of Cologne. His students included Gregor Schwake and Herbert Eimert. The eponymous "August of Othegraven Plaque " is awarded as a medal and pin in bronze, silver and gold for services to the cultural maintenance and promotion of choral singing. He is a composer of the song " A hunter from the Palatinate ".

From Othegraven was buried in Cologne on the Melaten Cemetery.
