August Wünsche

Karl August desires ( born August 22, 1838 in Hainewalde at Zittau, † November 15, 1912 in Dresden ) was a Protestant theologian and Hebraist.

Life and work

Wishes studied from 1860 to 1866 Theology and Oriental Studies in Leipzig. Since 1866 he was a teacher at the secondary school in Leipzig, 1869-1905 senior teacher at the town's high school for girls in Dresden. He was known as Agada translator and gave Jakob Winter with a multi-volume history of Jewish literature out ( 1894-1896 ).
