Augustin Barié

Augustin Barié (* November 15, 1883 in Paris, † 22 August 1915 Antony ) was a French organist and composer.

Life

Barié was born in 1883 blind. He studied with Adolphe Marty at the Institut National des Jeunes Aveugles, then at Alexandre Guilmant and Louis Vierne at the Conservatoire de Paris where he won first prize in 1906. He was organist at the church of St. Germain -des- Prés and professor at the Institut National des Jeunes Aveugles. With only 31 years he died, shortly after his marriage, of a cerebral hemorrhage.
