Augustine Obiora Akubeze

Augustine Obiora Akubeze ( born August 25, 1956 in Kaduna ) is Archbishop of Benin City.

Life

Augustine Obiora Akubeze received on 3 October 1987, the ordination. Pope Benedict XVI. appointed him on 14 December 2005 as Bishop of Uromi.

He received his episcopal consecration of the Archbishop of Lagos, Anthony Cardinal Olubunmi Okogie, on 25 February of the next year; Co-consecrators were Patrick Ebosele Ekpu, Archbishop of Benin City, and Renzo Fratini, Apostolic Nuncio to Nigeria.

On 18 March 2011 he was appointed Archbishop of Benin City and introduced into the office on April 28th of the same year.
