Augustinus Olomucensis

August Olomouc (* March 1467 in Olomouc, † November 3, 1513 ibid; Augustine also Moravian, Olomúcký, Augustine Olomucensis or cheese bread) was Moravian humanist, writer and art collector.

1492 to 1495 he studied in Italy astronomy, law, medicine and ancient languages ​​. After he received his doctorate, he returned to Bohemia and writer was the King of Bohemia firm in Buda. 1497 he was appointed canon in Brno and a year later provost in Olomouc. In 1506 he became secretary of King Ladislas ' II in Budapest .. 1510 he left the royal service and devoted himself to the collection of books and coins. In addition, he constantly maintained contacts with humanists in Bohemia and Europe, such as Conrad Celtis.

He was one of the staunch opponents of the Brethren.
