Augusto Pestana is a city or a municipality with 7096 inhabitants in the state of Rio Grande do Sul in southern Brazil.

Originally Augusto Pestana was part of Munizips Ijuí. The city is named after Augusto Pestana, a Brazilian politician and engineer.

History

Its history began in 1901 with the arrival of some German immigrants from Pomerania. In 1942, with the planning of a hospital ( Hospital São Francisco) started, which was opened in November 1973.
