Augustus Christian Frederick, Duke of Anhalt-Köthen

August Christian Friedrich, Duke of Anhalt- Köthen ( born November 18, 1769 in Köthen (Anhalt ); † May 5, 1812 in Köthen ) was a German reigning sovereign of the House of Ascanians.

Life

August Christian was a son of Prince Karl Georg Lebrecht of Anhalt- Köthen. He was a Prussian Major-General and, from May 15, 1803 Austrian Field Marshal Lieutenant. On January 31, 1805 his appointment was made Knight of the Black Eagle.

Since 1793 Prince Christian August was married to Friederike ( 1777-1821 ), daughter of Duke Frederick of Nassau- Usingen and Princess Luise of Waldeck. The childless marriage, however, was divorced in 1803.
