Aulnoye-Aymeries

Aulnoye- Aymeries is a commune with 8692 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Nord, in the Nord -Pas -de -Calais.

Geography

Aulnoye- Aymeries located south of the Bassin de la Sambre, whose main town, Maubeuge, 18 km north-east of the municipality lies. The municipality is part of the Regional Park Avesnois.

The community is a railway junction at which cross the remote connections from London via Calais, Basel to Milan and Paris via Cologne, Berlin to Warsaw. Since the operation of the TGV railway lines the importance of this has been greatly reduced. However, there are still direct connections to Paris.
