Aureliano Fernández-Guerra

Aureliano Fernández Guerra y Orbe ( born June 16, 1816 in Pinar del Valle, Province of Granada; † 7 September 1894 in Madrid) was a Spanish historian, antiquarian and writer.

He studied philosophy and jurisprudence there was Professor of History and Literature in Granada and was later the Department of Foreign Literatures at the University of Madrid. He held the same high positions in the Department of Justice and the Ministry of Culture and in 1856 was appointed a member of the Academia de la Historia, also included in the Spanish Academy in 1857 and finally elected to their lifelong secretary.

Fernández is one of the most prolific writers of Spain. As a poet, historian and playwright as a critic he has made Major. His pieces are characterized by strong characteristic, dramatic vivacity and beautiful language. Among his lyric seals highlight the " Odes and Romances " ( 1842-68 ). His performance on historical and archaeological area are of high value. But the work which has made him the most famous in the scientific world, is his critical edition of the works of Francisco de Quevedo (Madrid 1852-59 ), the same with an excellent biography and explanatory notes.
