Ausbach is a district of the municipality Hohenroda in Hersfeld-Rotenburg district in eastern Hesse. The place is located in Landeck office in the Rhön.

Ausbach was first documented in the year 1330. Starting in 1401 the town belonged to the Official Friedewald, from 1736 to the Official Landeck. The Evangelical Church Ausbach was built from 1730 to 1732. At this location, but must already have been a fortified church.
