Austin Clarke (novelist)
Austin Ardinel Chesterfield Clarke, CM, O.Ont ( born 1934 in Barbados ) is a afrokanadischer writer. He lives in Toronto.
Clarke grew up in Barbados and went to Canada in 1955 to study at the University of Toronto. After working as a journalist and radio reporter, he worked as a lecturer in creative writing at various U.S. universities. He officiated at times as cultural attache of Barbados in Washington, DC, but then settled in Toronto. In 1985, he participated in a Canadian citizen.
