Austin Scott (politician)

Austin Scott ( born December 10, 1969 in Augusta, Georgia ) is an American politician. Since 2011 he represents the state of Georgia in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Austin Scott is the son of an orthopedic surgeon and a teacher. Until 1993 he studied at the University of Georgia in Athens. Then he went into the business and became president of the Southern Group LLC and a partner in the Lockett Station Group LLC. Politically, he joined the Republican Party. Between 1997 and 2010 he sat as an MP in the House of Representatives from Georgia. For the year 2010, he originally planned as a candidate for the office of governor. But this project, he gave up prematurely.

In the congressional elections of 2010, Scott was in the eighth constituency of Georgia in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he succeeded the Democrat James C. Marshall took 3 January 2011, whom he had beaten in the election. His current term in Congress runs until January 3, 2013.

Austin Scott has a son with his wife Vivien. The family lives privately in Ashburn.
