Austrian Business Agency

The Austrian Business Agency - Austrian siting and Economy Advertising Gmbh (ABA - Invest in Austria ) is the investment promotion agency of the Republic of Austria and reported to the Ministry of Economy, Family and Youth. The organization is responsible for the acquisition and support of foreign companies wishing to establish a branch in Austria. The ABA informed about the business location Austria and advises international investors in location-relevant questions. The investment promotion agency was founded in 1982 as ICD Austria by ÖIAG and 1995 in Austrian Business Agency ( ABA) unnamed. To mark the 25th anniversary of the company in 2007, the ABA has changed its corporate design and is now used instead of the Austrian Business Agency the name ABA -Invest in Austria to make the corporate purpose more apparent. ABA -Invest in Austria has 25 employees.

The ABA supervised many international companies such as Sony, Infineon, Ikea, Matsushita Electric Works, Hutchison Mobile, Holmes Place or Starbucks in settling in Austria.

An agency of the ABA by Location Austria, is running since 1997 Austria as a location for international film productions. Location Austria is together with Austrian Economic Service GmbH (aws ) for the management of support under the " Film Location Austria " initiative ( FISA ) responsible. FISA is an initiative of the Federal Ministry of Economy, Family and Youth in support of movies with a non-repayable grant of 25 percent of the eligible Austrian manufacturing costs. Due to the great success of the funding model FISA has been extended until the end of 2014.

The bulk of foreign direct investment came in 2011 from the EU. The largest investors were Italy with 10.61 billion euros and Germany with 5.61 billion euros. The investments in these two countries give more than 100 percent since the UK ( -7.43 billion euros ) and the Netherlands have withdrawn ( -3.62 billion euros ) capital of Austria. Other major foreign investors in 2011 were Switzerland with 938 million euros, Luxembourg (908 million euros ), Brazil ( 708 million euros ) and Russia ( 579 million euros ).

With a total of 303 Eastern Europe Headquarters Austria is ahead of the competitor sites Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic and Hungary, which are able to boast 84 regional corporate headquarters. This is the result of a study by the law firm Wolf Theiss and a survey by the consulting organization Headquarters Austria. Many international institutions with Central and Eastern Europe are also have their headquarters in Austria.

In the soft location factors Austria is listed in international rankings in the areas of quality, safety, legal security and protection of persons and property in the front ranks.
