National league
The present form of the Austrian Hockey League ( currently Erste Bank Hockey League ) was launched prior to the 1965/66 season. The first Master was, however, played in 1923 and was called Wiener EV.
Master table
During the Second World War, no Austrian championship was played - the remaining teams played for the German championship. So the clubs EK Engelmann Vienna in 1939 and the Vienna Ice Skating Club in 1940 came to a national title.
