Austrian Student Mission

The Austrian Student Mission - Christians at the university ( ÖSM ) is a group of evangelical embossing for students from different churches and communities.

Leadership

The association is headed by evangelical students from various denominations. It combines the shared vision " Experiencing God. Living faith. Alter Austria. " The groups are supported as possible by a travel secretary. He coaches, trains and accompanies the students ( " ÖSMler " ) in their respective city. If there is no travel secretaries in a city, the management team of group companions ( usually former ÖSMler ) are supported.

Organization

The union itself is a member of the umbrella organization International Fellowship of Evangelical Students (IFES ), which is a worldwide association of about 160 evangelical Christian student movements. The ÖSM is not a church and do not want to compete with them. It encourages each member to be an active member in a church or community.

Missionary activity

Each semester offer the local groups small groups for Bible study, lectures at the university, book tables and other events such as movie nights and BBQs. Almost every week there is an event. Also, each year, usually in April during the Easter holidays, a national conference (called " Forum " ) is organizing. There, lectures and seminars are held, which are intended to encourage individuals in the Christian faith. Many other activities are intended to deepen friendships and the joy and fun with each other.
