Avaldsnes IL

Avaldsnes Idrettslag (short: Avaldsnes IL) is a Norwegian sports club from Avaldsnes. It was founded on June 16, 1937 and operates divisions in men's football, women's football and handball. The first women's team plays since 2013 in the Toppserien.

Women's Soccer

The women's soccer team reached the 2012 championship in the first Divisjon, the second- highest division of the Norwegian women's football, and for the first time rose to the masthead series. It is the first sports team from the Karmøy ever playing in a top domestic league championship. Before the new season, the team was then considerably strengthen. Among other things, the internationals Cecilie Pedersen (Norway ), which had accrued in 2009 until 2011 for Avaldsnes, Guðbjörg Gunnarsdóttir, Hólmfríður Magnúsdóttir and Helga Jónsdóttir from Iceland Þórunn and Rosana dos Santos Augusto and Andréia Rosa de Andrade were committed from Brazil.
