Awilda

Awilda was the legendary daughter of a Scandinavian king of the 5th century.

When her father arranged her marriage to the Crown Prince of Denmark, she did not agree. Together with some friends, she disguised herself as a sailor, organized a ship and fled across the Baltic Sea. Way they met on a pirate ship that a few days before his captain had lost. The women talked bravely and four days later, Awilda was appointed by the pirates as the new captain.

The pirate gang had great success and was well known in almost all of Scandinavia. So it was that his son and some of his best men of the King of Denmark sent into battle, to do the pirates. They managed to hijack Awildas ship. In The Fight Awilda was impressed by the bravery of the Prince so that they eventually but agreed to the wedding.
