Axel Strøbye

Axel Strøbye ( born February 22, 1928 in Frederiksberg, † July 13, 2005 in Copenhagen) was a Danish actor.

Life

Axel Strøbye settled after a teaching architects from 1950 to 1952 to train at the Drama School of the Royal Theatre. In the following years he played in almost all Danish stage and was engaged intermittently since 1968 firmly at the Royal Theatre, where he played more than 60 roles (Shakespeare, Strindberg, Ibsen ). Since its debut in 1951, he joined some 130 theatrical films, TV movies and series, in addition to advertising. With the later Olsen Gang co-star Poul Bundgaard, he published in 1969 even a vocal duet.

His most popular role was that of Commissioner Jensen in 11 of the 14 parts of the Danish Olsen Gang series in 1973 where he made ​​his first appearance in The Olsen Gang had run amok.
