Ayala Procaccia

Ajala Procaccia (Hebrew אילה פרוקצ'יה; * 1941 in Ashdod Yaacov kibbutz ) is an Israeli lawyer and former judge of the Supreme Court of Israel.

Procaccia served after high school two years in the IDF, and then studied at the Hebrew University of Israel. Your studies there, she joined with obtaining the degrees of Bachelor of Laws ( LL.B ) and a Master of Laws ( LL.M ) with distinction, from. Afterwards she worked in the legal profession, and shortly thereafter to become a paralegal at the former President of the Supreme Court in Israel Simon Agranat. In 1972, she earned her doctorate at the University of Pennsylvania Law School. From 1972 to 1987 she worked at the Israeli Ministry of Justice.

In 1987 she was appointed Judge of the Magistrate Court in Jerusalem. She was a judge at the District Court of Jerusalem, 2001 Judge of the Supreme Court of Israel, where she worked until her retirement in 2011, 1993. At Supreme Court, she had influence with the case law on the relationship between human rights on the issue of national security, equal rights for women and the relationship between state and religion. She also had influence on the decision of the court on the impact of international law on the establishment of a security fence to seal off the West Bank.
