The Ayr Scottish Eagles were an ice hockey club in the town of Ayr in Scotland. They played at the Ice Hockey Superleague. The Games were held in the Centrum Arena, at the hockey games had a capacity of 2,745 seats.

History

The team was founded in 1996 and took up the game at the Ice Hockey Operation Super League. In its first season, the Eagles won 42 games in 48 points, which they finished third in the Super League. In the 1997/98 season the team won with 73 points for the first time the British Ice Hockey Championship. In 45 games, the Scots scored 200 goals, with 113 goals against and 957 penalty minutes, the team was also a leader in these statistics. In the following two seasons, the team reached only moderate midfield positions with 42 and 43 points. In the following years the team was unable to compete for the championship title. Although the Eagles reached in the 2001/ 02 season in second place, with 49 points but were well behind the Belfast Giants, who have gained 70 points. For the season 2002 /03 the Scots changed the club name in Scottish Eagles. We've played eight games before the team had to be disbanded due to financial problems.

In addition, the team participated in the 1998/99 season as the reigning British champion at the European Hockey League.
