Azinphos is a chemical compound from the group of Thiophosphoric and triazines. It is used as a broadband organophosphate insecticide in the cultivation of various fruits and vegetables. It works ( like other substances in this group ) than acetylcholinesterase.

Properties

Azinphos is a colorless solid which is practically insoluble in water.

Use

Azinphos is used as primarily as an insecticide and acaricide secondary. It has a broad spectrum of action and does not act cumulatively. It belongs to the non-systemic organophosphorus insecticide with good ovicidal properties. It has excellent residual activity, and is not phytotoxic. It is very toxic to mammals and is classified by the WHO as highly dangerous, which is why it is no longer used in many countries. In Germany the approval of active substances was revoked with this substance in 1995.
