Azione teatrale

Azione teatrale is a genus of musical theater, which was especially popular in Italy in the late 17th and 18th centuries. It is also referred to as azione scenica, componimento dramatico or componimento da camera.

The Azione teatrale is a mostly one-act opera. they were listed in more private setting, such as in the theaters of the nobles and was so far an early form of chamber opera. The fabrics were mostly historical or mythological nature. A similar but more extensive composition of this kind was called Festa teatrale (eg: WA Mozart: Ascanio in Alba ( 1771) )
