Azzurro

Azzurro is the title of an Italian pop songs, the Paolo Conte has composed together with Michele Virano on a text by Vito Pallavicini, and was first published in 1968 by Adriano Celentano along with the song Una carezza in un pugno as a single. The plate 1968 was four weeks at No. 1 of the Italian singles chart and became the best-selling single of the year 1968.

The song's lyrics are about daydreams and wanderlust on a summer day in the city as well as the longing for a distant love affair. The title stands for the azure blue of the summer sky.

Many Italian singers have interpreted the song, next Celentano among other things, Mina, Gianni Morandi, Fiorello and Bruno Grassini. Likewise, the Italian national football team published the piece. There are also German-speaking interpretations of Peter Rubin, Dieter Thomas Kuhn and Peter Alexander. Die Toten Hosen produced a punk version, it is included on the album On the crusade to happiness. There is also an inspired by the film of the same song.

Like the Capri -Fischer was the title with his German interpretations for the longing for Italy in the German pop.

Conte himself took the song only after ten years of solo career in 1985 on the album Concerti.
