Ba-pef

Ba - pef (Ba - pef ) is an ancient Egyptian underworld deity.

The essence of the Ba - pef is unclear. Presumably, this is a deity of pain and sorrow. The translation of his name means " this / that soul " and suggests that this non-specific name was out of fear or because of a taboo to use the correct name selected. The house of the Ba - pef in the underworld is called in the Pyramid Texts, but absent further details about the Godhead.

In Giza were in the grave of Meresanch III. Evidence of a priesthood of the Ba - pef at the time of the Old Kingdom found. However, this deity appears to have been at no time is of great importance.
