Bà Rịa–Vũng Tàu Province

Ba Ria- Vung Tau is a province on the southern coast of Vietnam and one of the economic centers of the country.

Ba Ria- Vung Tau is divided into five districts. Chau Duc, Long Dat Tan Thanh Xuyen Moc and on the mainland, and the island group Côn Đạo. The capital city of Vung Tau is located outside these areas.

The province has existed since 1979, when it was formed from parts of surrounding provinces. In 1992, she was added to the city of Ba Ria still the area. At this time she also received its present name.

Economy

Ba Ria- Vung Tau is one of the wealthiest and most economically active provinces in Vietnam. 2005, approximately 24% of state revenues were generated here, only Ho Chi Minh City and Ha Noi have an even greater proportion.
