Baal (demon)

Baal (Hebrew בעל = Lord, master, owner, husband, king or god) is a demon in Christianity. Originally called Baal worshiped a Canaanite in Syria weather and fertility god, Baal see ( deity ).

When Christianity made ancient gods into demons and demonology divided the demonic population of Hell multiple hierarchies, the Semitic god Baal was a separate entity of Beelzebub.

While his Semitic predecessor was depicted as a man or bull, he is three heads in European demonology usually. The first head is human with a ducal crown, the second is that of a toad and the third of a cat. He has a human chest and the rest of the body of a spider. Other depictions show him as a man with three heads (cat, toad and human) than people with cats or toads head or, rarely, as a man. He should be able to also occur in the form of a cat or a toad.
