Babek District
Babək (also Babäk or Babak ) is a rayon of Azerbaijan in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. The capital of the district is the city Babək.
Geography
The district is situated on the border with Iran, which forms the Aras River, and surrounds the city of Nakhchivan City (city). There are several mineral springs.
Population
In Rayon lived 2009 71.400 inhabitants. These are spread over 43 settlements.
Economy
The region is dominated by agriculture. It is grown vegetables, subtropical fruit and cereals. In addition, there are several manufacturing plants.
