Babel (protocol)

Babel is a distance-vector routing protocol for unreliable computer networks. Babel was developed at the University of Paris -Diderot and is based on principles of DSDV, AODV and Cisco EIGRP.

The freedom from routing loops and the rapid convergence was formally demonstrated for Babel and is guaranteed with most changes in the network topology.

Routing the distance - metric is calculated over a distributed Bellman Ford algorithm, which converges in O (n). Babel also uses the Diffusing Update Algorithm ( DUAL).

Since August 2012 allowed the Babel implementation of Quagga authentication.

Other routing protocols

  • B.A.T.M.A.N. (Better Approach To Mobile Adhoc Networking)
  • OLSR (Optimized Link State Routing)
  • Ad -hoc network ( different routing method)
