Babette Peter (born 12 May 1988 in Oschatz ) is a German football player. The defender plays for the first FFC Frankfurt and the German national team.

Life

Club football

Babette Peter began in elementary school on the football field to play football. At age nine, her parents signed her up at FSV Oschatz. After her move to the first FC Locomotive Leipzig, she was junior national team. During the winter break of the season 2005/ 06 she moved to 1 FFC Turbine Potsdam. On 12 September 2007 she was awarded the Fritz Walter Gold Medal. On October 7, 2007, it achieved at SG Essen-Schönebeck penalty spot their first Bundesliga goal. With turbine Babette Peter won the German championship five times, once the DFB Cup three times and the DFB Cup Hall. Her greatest success in turbine was the Champions League win in 2010. For 2012/13 season Peter changed to the first FFC Frankfurt. From the 2014/15 season Peter will play for VfL Wolfsburg. In the Lower Saxony it receives a contract until 2017.

National

In 2005, she failed with the U-19 selection in the semifinals of the European Championship in Russia. Your first cap for the German national team, she completed on 9 March 2006 against Finland. Already at the beginning of her career with the national team she got the nickname Hulk. With the national team it was 2007 World Champion, came during the tournament, however, not used. A year later, she won the bronze medal at the Olympics. In 2009 she was with the national team European champion. Their first international goal they scored on 1 March 2010 at the Algarve Cup against China. They also took over after the substitution of Birgit Prinz for the first time the captain's armband. Peter was part of the team's squad for the 2011 World Cup in Germany. Peter took part in the first two courses for the European Championship in 2013 and also played the first Test match against Scotland. Two days later, however, they had to cancel their European Championships because of an injury of the left foot.

Private

Babette Peter visited from July 2003 to December 2005 the sports high school in Leipzig, before June 2007 attended by January 2006 the Potsdam Sports High School and graduated there with the Abitur. As of early October 2007, she graduated as a sports soldier of the Bundeswehr General basic training in Clausewitz barracks of Nienburg / Weser.

Since the age of five Babette Peter suffers from Bell's palsy, a debilitating disease of the facial muscles responsible for the nerves. At 15, she underwent a surgery, which greatly improved the situation.
