Baca County, Colorado
The Baca County is the southeasternmost administrative unit in the State of Colorado of the United States, which has as the state itself an almost uniform boundary line in the form of a rectangle. The the county seat ( county seat ) is in Springfield.

The County is located south of the Arkansas River, adjacent to the Las Animas County in the west, and Bent and Prowers the north. The district borders the south and east are also the state borders of Colorado, to which countries Kansas, Oklahoma and southwest to a very small part of New Mexico join. According to the census of 2000, there were 4,517 people in the county. There were 1,905 households and 1,268 families. The population density was 1 people per square kilometer. The racial the population was made up of 93.73 percent White, 0.04 percent African American, 1.20 percent Native American, 0.15 percent Asian, 0.09 percent of residents from the Pacific Islander and 2.99 percent from other races groups; 1.79 percent were descended from two or more races. 7.02 percent of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
Of the 1,905 households out of which 28.4 percent have children under the age of 18 living with them. 56.8 percent were married couples living together, 7.5 percent were single mothers. 33.4 percent were non-families. 30.4 percent of all households and 15.7 percent lived in people aged 65 years or older. The average household size was 2.33 and the average family size was 2.90 persons.
Based on the county the population was spread from 24.5 percent population under 18 years, 5.9 percent between 18 and 24 years, 22.7 percent between 25 and 44 years, 24.5 percent between 45 and 64 years and 22.4 percent were 65 years old or older. The average age was 43 years. For every 100 females there were 99.0 males to 100 females age 18 and over, there were 95.5 males.
The median income for a household was $ 28,099, and the median income for a family was $ 34,018. Males have a median income of $ 23,169, women $ 18,292. Largest city in the county - with just 1,500 residents - is Springfield, who is also the administrative headquarters is located. With the exception of Walsh all other places are smaller settlements.
