Baeocrara

Baeocrara is a genus of beetles in the family of dwarf beetle ( Ptiliidae ) within the subfamily Acrotrichinae. It occurs in Europe, with two species in Central Europe comes from before only the White Dwarf beetle ( Baeocrara variolosa ).

Features

The beetles of the genus see where Nephanes and pteryx similar, but her body has a bright, coarse and less dense point-like textured top. One can see the animals well by their sharp rectangular rear angle on the pronotum, which are easily pulled back. But do not include the base of the elytra as in the genus Acrotrichis. The antennae are long.

Occurrence and life

The animals live in decaying plant material and dead wood.
