Out of Rosenheim is a feature film by German director Percy Adlon from the year 1987.

Action

Jasmin Münchgstettner from Rosenheim soars after a big row with her husband out of the car and stands alone in the desert of California. In her Loden costume with handbag and suitcase she goes to Baghdad - a small village, consisting of the rundown Baghdad Café with attached motel and gas station. Here she meets Brenda, who has sent her husband shortly before in the desert.

After here has rented a room, Jasmine has to realize that it has taken her husband's suitcase through the desert. The scattered in-room travel utensils including shaving brush and Bavarian lederhosen strengthen Brenda's reservations about jasmine. But gradually breaks the ice. Especially by Brenda's children is gradually friendship from initial distrust. They learn from each other in a process of sincere communication. In her husband's suitcase Jasmine finds a box with instructions for magic tricks, they show off a little later in Bagdad Café.   • The film was shot in the conveniently located near Barstow located off Interstate 40 desert spots Newberry Springs, California, not in the real Baghdad ( California), which is further east along the legendary Route 66 in the Mojave Desert, south of Interstate 40 between Ludlow and Amboy. On the road maps of the AAA is not the California Baghdad recorded, but another desert town of that name, Baghdad ( Arizona).
  • At the time of filming, the Bagdad Café was still called Sidewinder and was a converted depot for feed. Today the former Sidewinder has long since taken the name from the movie.
  • The film's title is quoted in the film, as Jasmine answers the question where it comes from.
