Bagua Province

Bagua is one of seven provinces, which form the Amazon region in northern Peru.

Location and territory

Bagua is bordered to the northwest by Ecuador, on the east by the province of Condorcanqui, to the south by the province of Utcubamba and to the west by the Cajamarca region ( provinces of Jaén and San Ignacio ).

Division

The Bagua province is divided into six districts. In brackets the administrative headquarters will be displayed:

  • Imaza ( Imaza )
  • La Peca (La Peca )

Geography

The Bagua Province is located in the northeastern part of the Amazon region.

Bagua has one of the most important frontiers of Peru, which excited in the last ten years at war against Ecuador a worldwide sensation.

Capital

The provincial capital is Bagua, which is located at the southern end of the province, on the right bank of the river Utcubamba.
