Baja California Desert

The Baja California desert is a desert region on the Mexican peninsula of Baja California. It forms a sub-region of the Sonoran Desert, which extends across the northwestern Mexico, and parts of the U.S. states of California and Arizona.

The desert has an area of ​​approximately 30,000 km ². The climate of the desert is dry and subtropical. It is bounded to the west by the Pacific Ocean and to the east of the Peninsular Ranges, a mountain chain that extends across the full length of the Baja California peninsula and covers around 100 km along the border of the United States ranges. Your fauna includes more than 500 rare species of animals, some of which are endemic. Similarly, there are more than 500 plant species, of which, for example, the cactus Stenocereus eruca is endemic.
