Bajaj Auto

Bajaj Auto is a company from India, based in Pune, Maharashtra. It is one of the largest automobile manufacturers in India and the fourth largest manufacturer of two- and three- wheeled vehicles worldwide. Locations of the company are in Waluj near Aurangabad, in Akurdi and Chakan, near Pune. Bajaj Auto produces and exports scooters, motorcycles and auto rickshaws. The company is headed by Rahul Bajaj.

Bajaj Auto was founded on 29 November 1945 under the company name M / s Bachraj Trading Corporation Private Limited. It began with the sale of imported motorcycles and scooters in India. In 1959, the company received a license from the Indian government to manufacture motorcycles and scooters in India. In 1970 the company produced the 100,000 th vehicle. As early as 1977, the company produced 100,000 vehicles in a financial year. In 1985 the factory was opened in Waluj at Aurangabad. In 1995 the ten millionth vehicle was manufactured.

On the Forbes list of the 2,000 largest companies Bajaj Auto in 2006 took the place of 1946. Since February 2010, Bajaj among other things involved as a holding company in the joint venture company Renault Nissan Automotive India Pvt. Ltd.. and thus enters into the automobile production.
