Bala and Festiniog Railway

Bala and Festiniog Railway was a British railway company in Wales.

The Company was incorporated on July 28, 1873 by the Great Western Railway. With the construction of the rail trying to get a share of the own slate removal from Blaenau Ffestiniog. The 35.4 km long stretch of Llan Ffestiniog to Bala was put into operation on 1 November 1882. For the further construction to Blaenau we used the subgrade of the narrow gauge Festiniog and Blaenau Railway track of which one acquired on 13 April 1883. On September 10, 1883, the standard gauge operation began on this section.

As of 1879, the GWR had leased the track and took over on July 1, 1910, the Company.
