Bălăbănești, Galați

Bălăbăneşti (deprecated romanesti ) is a municipality in the district of Galaţi in Moldavia region in Romania.

Geographical location

The community Bălăbăneşti, with one ( according to different data) total area of ​​2,570 hectares or 3799.56, located in the historical region of Moldavia in the north west of the circle Galaţi. At the same stream - a tributary of the Jeravăţ - and the National Road ( Drum National) DN 24D is Bălăbăneşti located 23 km west of the small town Bereşti; the county capital of Galaţi is located about 90 kilometers south of Bălăbăneşti.

History

The place Bălăbăneşti was first mentioned in documents in 1460.

Population

2002 were registered in the municipality Bălăbăneşti 3964 ethnic Romanians. In the census of 31 October 2011, only 2081 people were counted in 986 households in the community.
