Balduin Wolff

Baldwin Wolff ( born July 15, 1819 in Schmiedeberg, County Hirschberg in the Giant Mountains, Lower Silesia, † November 21, 1907 in Dusseldorf ) was a German draftsman and painter of the Romantic period.

Life

Wolff received his education at the Gymnasium to Hirschberg. Later he worked in the construction business and operational theoretical and practical studies at the Royal buildings in Erdmannsdorf (Giant Mountains). Only after Wolff moved to painting and attended the University of Arts Berlin and Dusseldorf Art Academy.

From 1858 he received a fixed salary as an art teacher at the Municipal Secondary School in Dusseldorf.

The motives of his drawings, watercolors and oil paintings, which are now traded internationally at auctions and are exhibited in museums, he painted in the style of Romanticism.
