Balho

Region

Balho is a place in the region Tadjoura in Djibouti, on the border with Ethiopia. The residents are mostly Afar.

In Balho rock paintings have been found. These were used in 1974 in what was then French Afars and Issas Territory as stamp motifs.

1991 joined in Balho three Afar opposition groups to the front pour la Restauration de l' Unité et de la Démocratie ( FRUD ) together, which fought in the Djiboutian civil war against the government. In 1993 the army Balho, Dorra and Randa recapture and the FRUD relegate to the north.
