Ballinluig

Ballinluig ( Scottish Gaelic: Baile an Luig ) is a village in the Scottish Highlands. It is in the unitary authority Perth and Kinross near the mouth of the River Tummel in the River Tay.

Ballinluig until the 1960s had regional importance, since at the station of Ballinluig branched off a side track of the Highland Railway to Aberfeldy. The branch line and the train station but were closed in 1965.

Near the village produced from 1812 Auchnagie distillery whiskey. However, it was closed in 1912. Also founded in 1810 and closed in 1927 Ballechin distillery was located in the vicinity of the village.

The stone circle of Tynreich (English Tynreich Stone Circle; gäl. Tigh -na- ruaich ) is just east of the A9 ( road ), at the end of St. Cedd 's Road.
