Balmaha

Balmaha ( Gaelic: Baile MoThatha ) is a hamlet on the eastern shore of Loch Lomond in the unitary authority Stirling in Scotland.

The name Balmaha comes from the Gaelic and means " place of the sacred Maha ", which suggests the village have ancient origins - perhaps as a hermit dwelling. Today it is a popular tourist destination, especially for residents of Glasgow, but also for walkers of the West Highland Way. Boat trips are possible from Balmaha to Balloch and Luss and the villages of the island Inchcailloch.

Balmaha is situated at the western foot of Conic Hill, and lies on 32.2 kilometers of the West Highland Way.

The village has a visitors center for visitors to the Queen Elizabeth Forest Park.
