Baltasar Albéniz

Baltasar Albéniz Martínez ( born January 6, 1905 in Eibar, Spain, † November 29, 1978 in Pamplona ) was a Spanish football player and coach.

Career

From 1930 to 1935 Baltasar Albéniz played in several Basque clubs as a defender. In 1935, he finished his football career at Arenas Club de Getxo and was in the same year her coach. Until the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War in 1936, he led the team. It was not until 1941 he returned at Celta Vigo back to the dugout. After a trip to Espanyol, he was obliged in 1947 from Real Madrid. He won with the Merengues 1947, the Copa del Rey, left the capital to train for a year Deportivo Alavés, and returned in 1950 returned to Real Madrid. In 1951 he was appointed assistant coach of the Spanish national team and spent a year working for the Selección. He then returned to the Basque Country, where he coached CA Osasuna and Athletic Bilbao. With the latter Albéniz won again in 1958, the Copa del Rey. After a short visit to UD Las Palmas in the season 1958/59 he was still in Basque clubs as trainers and finished his career in 1971 with CA Osasuna.
