Ban Khai District
Amphoe Ban Khai ( in Thai: อำเภอ บ้านค่าย ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the province of Rayong. The Rayong province is located in the eastern region of central Thailand.
Geography
Neighboring districts (from west clockwise): Amphoe Nikhom the Phatthana, Pluak Daeng, Wang Chan and Mueang Rayong. All districts belong to the province of Rayong.
History
As in 1767 Ayutthaya, capital of Siam, had been destroyed by the Burmese, who later became King Taksin gathered his troops at Chanthaburi to build a military base here, could be carried out from which the resistance against Burma. On the way to Chanthaburi he built a camp for the night ( Thai: khai - ค่าย ) on the territory of today's Ban Khai.

Management
The circle is divided into seven subdistricts (tambon ), which are further subdivided into 66 villages ( Muban ).
Ban Khai itself ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล บ้านค่าย ) has a small-town status ( thesaban tambon) and covers parts of tambon Ban Nong Khai and Lalok.
In addition, there are seven " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
