Ban Pho District

Amphoe Ban Pho ( in Thai: อำเภอ บ้านโพธิ์ ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the west of the province of Chachoengsao. The Chachoengsao province is located in the eastern region of central Thailand.

Geography

Neighboring districts (from north clockwise): Amphoe Mueang Chachoengsao which, Bang Khla and Plaeng Yao Chachoengsao province, the Amphoe Phan Thong Phanat Nikhom and in the province of Chon Buri, Amphoe Bang Pakong turn in Chachoengsao and Amphoe Bang Bo in the province of Samut Prakan.

The main river of the district is Maenam Bang Pakong the ( Bang Pakong River - ).

History

Ban Pho was established in 1903 by a part of Mueang Chachoengsao was separated. At that time the district was ( สมเด็จ พระเจ้า น้อง ยา เธอ กรม หมื่น มรุ พง ษ์ สิริ พัฒน์ ), called the Governor of Monthon Prachinburi, first Sanam Chan ( สนาม จันทร์ ) of Prince Marubhongse Siribhadhana. The area of Sanam Chan was on both sides of the Maenam Bang Pakong. In 1906, the government divided the territory on the left bank, where was the administration, and called it from Ban Pho.

Later, in 1911, King Vajiravudh (Rama VI. ) The Sanam Chan Palace in Nakhon Pathom was built, it was found that the name of the district was pronounced the same as that of the palace. Then the government changed on 20 July 1914 names in Khao Din. In 1917 the name was changed again to the current name of Ban Pho.

Management

The circle is divided into 17 subdistricts (tambon ), which are further subdivided into 73 villages ( Muban ).

There are two small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Ban Pho ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล บ้านโพธิ์ ) consists of the whole tambon Ban Pho,
  • Theppharat ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล เทพ ราช ) consists of parts of the tambon Ko Rai and Theppharat.

There are also 14 " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
